London, 1 November 2010: The Manmohan Singh-Wen Jiabao dialogue with its standard reiteration of China-India economic interdependence, strategic commonalities in areas like climate change, peaceful coexistence and so forth fail to impress. The fact that the dialogue for all purposes was initiated by India, which served as an occasion for Manmohan Singh to emphasize the areas of India's core interests and concerns, also contributes to the notion that China is not an equal participant in this diplomatic exercise.
