19 May 2010: The second Dantewada massacre could not have come at a worse juncture for the country. On one hand, India faces unprecedented threats of Pakistani and Af-Pak terrorism whose aims are to militarily seize Jammu and Kashmir, wreck the Indian economic success story and destroy its great-power ambitions, and Balkanize the nation. On the other hand, the second Manmohan Singh regime, in less than a year of assuming office, has become the weakest Central government in recent history, lacking an effective Lok Sabha majority for strong-willed governance, and being further sapped by Congress party powerbrokers like Digvijay Singh, who will stop at nothing to remain politically relevant.
