10 May 2010: On Saturday, Pakistan carried out user trials of two, short-range, nuclear-capable and India-specific ballistic missiles, Hatf III and IV. The tests surprisingly went under-reported in India. If the aim was to preserve prime minister Manmohan Singh's peace initiative with Pakistan, then the Indian government's efforts cannot be more horribly misplaced and mistimed. From the looks of it, Pakistan is spoiling for a war with India to escape the disastrous consequences of the blotched New York, Times Square bombing, and all the vigil that India now exercises may be insufficient.
