23 April 2010: Pakistan is the only nuke power whose weapons, the world fears, may fall into terrorist hands. One scenario, the most feared, is that jihadi "insiders" may make available weapons or fissile cores to terrorists. The second scenario is that a failing Pakistan is taken over by terrorists who then get custody of its weapons. A variation of this scenario is that once the Taliban/ Al-Qaeda capture Afghanistan after the US withdrawal, they then turn their attention to Pakistani nukes. All these scenarios have been discussed in earlier commentaries by this writer in this magazine.
