1 March 2010: On this day of Holi, the mind inevitably travels back to deadly events in Afghanistan, where Indian military personnel and civilians were targeted by, according to the latest intelligence, Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terrorists. LeT's terrorist leader and the founder of the murderous Jamaat-ud-Dawa, Hafiz Mohammed Sayeed, told a news channel with his back to the camera so he couldn't be identified that "jihad" was justified in Jammu and Kashmir and that Pakistan had to go to war with India to wrest that state. Sayeed has previously also spoken of unfinished business with regard to Hyderabad (the Telangana idea should chill every Indian policy-maker and strategist) and his deputies have threatened terror attacks all over India. The Poona, German bakery bombing was preceded by pointed LeT threats.
